Here's a question: What does it mean to be "crazy"?
Let us know what you think of when you hear this term... does it have a variety of meanings to you? Have you ever used the term in reference to anyone? How might our personal conceptions of the word "crazy" depend on our own background and situations?

When I hear the term "crazy" i think of somebody who is just completely out of whack and just someone who is out there. I usually have a few people in mind, sometimes its a bad thing but most of the time I think its just a funny word to use.I think my own conception of "crazy" come from my background and from the way some people around me have used it.
I think the term crazy has different meanings. I've used the word to describe someone who is just out of there mind or delusional. Other times I've used the word crazy to describe someone in a good way for someone who is really wild and fun.
I, like the two above me, have heard and used the term "crazy" in two different ways. One way refers to someone who is out there and completely out of their mind. The second way i used to describe someone who is wild

When the term crazy is thrown around I think of someone who does not have a concept of real life, I think President Bush. Even though I know he is not mentally insane I still think of his picture in the dictionary when I hear the word crazy. Then again when you look at his approval rating, 29% , who are these 29% people, I mean what the heck are they thinking... last i checked the rich in this country was only the top .1% so these other 28.9 people are?
to be crazy is to have a distorted perception of reality.different meanings could be crazy like just being wild or unconventional or actually insane.i use the word crazy to describe people every day but not in a cruel or hurtful way, just observational.and ironically enough an elderly woman at my work who is from a different country got very offended when i called her crazy and i had to explain to her that i didnt mean she is actually insane its just in america we lightly use that word
When someone tells me someone is crazy, i usually think they are mentally not right. My parents have always just used the word in this way so its how i have always used it.

Crazy has many different meanings. It can refer to a person that has done something outrageous in a good or bad way. And it can also mean something that you find to be interesting or cool. I use it to reference people all the time.
i think what it means to be crazy is not only to be not normal, but to be completely out of this world. now i understand that people are diffrent, but i think crazy is more like your losing your mind or your not thinking rightor something along those lines.

Crazy can mean ALOT of different things. I consider myself crazy on a daily basis. When i say that i mean wild and fun!! ha but you can also consider somone being completely out there and weird so to say crazy. I dont necessarily feel that crazy is a bad thing, but people may take it the wrong way and if your going to say it to someone make sure you explain yourself so they dont take it the wrong way.

Yeah I go with what their saying, haha I use the term "crazy" to describe someone deranged or out of their mind perhaps. I think many of us have different ways of using the term in itself . For example, some guy could say "that girl is crazy about him", it could just mean she really likes him or is fixated on him. Another fine example would be if someone said
"that game was insane/crazyy" they could just mean it was intense or it was alot of fun. So really it all depends on the mood/tone of the person's voice to determine what they mean when they say someone or something is/was crazy.
I guess most of our perception's of crazy could all depend on the situation at hand, not everyone actually means someone is counted as insane or crazy just because they say that term, like I said it all depends on the situation, tone of their voice.
The term crazy can mean several different things. You can use it meaning wild, fun, loony, out there, not mentally stable, nuts, psycho, the list goes on. When I hear it I don't immediately jump to thinking mentally unstable, I usually gravitate towards spontanious and wild. My friends and I call each other crazy all the time and in ways we are.

When I hear the word "crazy" I think of it as having many different meanings. Mainly the first meaning that I think of right away when I hear it is someone who is just wild and crazy; out of control! I have used this word to describe some of my friends and my crazy sisters.
When you look up the definition of crazy there are about five meanings; from deranged to just foolish and those are exactly what I think of. I use the term crazy in reference to a stupid thing some one did, or a "crazy" amount of work or a crazy week that was jam-packed, and I have even used the term crazy in reference to people on the street I actually thought were mentally unstable. Crazy is a metamorphic term it can be used in many ways and times all depending on who you are with and what you are describing.

Crazy to me, means someone who has mental problems, or someone who is not really "crazy" but is outgoing and WILD.When i hear the word crazy I think of someone who isn't in the right state of mind. I have used the term crazy lightly just to explain someones personality. The way i think of crazy is how my parents have always used the word.

My friends and I throw around the term "crazy" a lot. To most of us, it just means that we said or were thinking something that was irrational. According to the text, being crazy is a very abnormal mental state, much more serious than what we mean it to be. 90 percent of the time, I use the word as a joke and to make people laugh, but I actually do use it in its literal form from time to time. If i were to grow up around a family member or close family friend that actually was crazy, then I would probably have a completely different conception of the word. I wouldn't throw it around as much as I do now; I would probably have more respect for it.
When I think of the term crazy I find that it has many meanings. I can describe someone as crazy if they are mentally insane. But I can also describe someone as being crazy if they are wild, loud, out there, rebellious, and/or fearless. I've also used the term crazy to describe events or situations because they were just down right crazy Lol.
When i hear the word crazt, i think of somebody or something that has gone out of control or its serious. The only time i have used the reference towards someone is when they have done something that is out of control or something that is weird or something.
When I think of a person who is crazy the first thing that comes to mind is a psycho, someone who is out of their mind. Nowadays, that word is used with different meanings. It depends on who you are use to hearing it.
To be crazy can mean different things; Like being wild, or insane. When I hear the word crazy the first thing taht comes to my mind is that the person is wild or out of their mind. I use that term alot but I don't use it in a mean way.
Crazy means a lot of different things to me. It can be a way of decribing someone in either a good or bad way. I can decribe the term "crazy" as someone being mentally insane, or someone who is wild, loud, fearless, or rebellious. I guess it just depends on the type of person.
when i use the word crazy its because i cannot think of a better word to say. I dont really like the word because who am i to say someone is crazy or for someone to call me crazy. I just think that the word is used for extreme conditions and situations.
I think crazy has different meanings both someone who is out of their mind and cannot think clearly and someone who is very out going and loud.

I think there are alot of meanings to the term "crazy". I think it can mean someone with mental problems all the way to a funny firend. I use that term all of the time in everyway you can use it. I grew up hearing that word used in a good and bad way so I think that is why I freely use it.

When I think of the term crazy i think of people that cant control all of there emotions or people that have to do things over board every single time just to have fun. But then again i also use it in different ways to describe how brave someone was to skydive off a plane. Stuff like that.
